America, what were you expecting from a White House populated by Marxists, socialists, communists, Maoists, radicals, leftists, and America-haters? Shocking to say, we have a gang in the White House with an agenda that includes the destruction of capitalism, of free markets, and of America values.
What kind of character and performance were you expecting from a president who was a disciple of Saul Alinsky, the Chicago Community organizer, whose now infamous book Rules for Radicals holds that the ends justify the means, meaning anything goes, including lying through your teeth in the service of a “higher” good, such as a socialized health care system?
If you haven’t figured out Obama is stacking up one lie after another to sell Obamacare, you haven’t been paying attention. For example, Obama lies that everyone can keep their insurance and their doctor if they like them…knowing that the entire health care delivery system is going to be radically restructured. That means you shouldn’t and can’t guarantee any insurer will even continue in the business or that any doctor will continue to practice. He says you can keep the insurance you have now, but at the same time announces budget cuts that spell the end of Medicare Advantage, now carried by about ten million seniors. And can you keep Medicare when Obamacare calls for a half a trillion dollar cut in the first decade, and a trillion dollars in the longer term. And when this guy who has never run a hot dog stand and who has never accomplished anything in his pre-presidential career (yes, look at it), tries to restructure one-sixth of the American economy, look out. That’s true in spades, clubs, hearts, and diamonds, once you figure out he’s selling Obamacare with a bushel basket full of lies and a thimble full of truth. The act itself is a fraud, so it achieves a phony deficit neutrality by front-loading taxes, penalties and fees, and back-loading benefits. That could make anything look good, but it is an obvious lie. Other lies are piling up including one of the biggest lies of his career – if you make less than $250,000 a year, you will not get a tax increase. That was before the dark specter of Obamacare and cap-and-trade, laden with multiple taxes, including a payroll tax increase exemplifying one of many job killers in this legislative agenda.
America, what kind of health care legislation were you expecting, when you know that Obama and the Democratic Congress pushed through a $787 billion stimulus bill without even reading it. This was represented as a bill in need of urgent passage, and now only a small fraction of the money has even been spent, and it is a clear failure. Remember the unemployment rate was supposed to go as high as eight percent if the bill wasn’t passed. Well, it went up to 10.2 percent after the bill was passed and we continued to shed millions of jobs. More lies from Obama when he tells us how many jobs have been saved or created since he signed the stimulus bill on February 17, 2009. The truth is we’ve lost three million jobs since then, and even the corrupt and dishonest mainstream media admit Obama’s job saving claims are a fraud like most of his program.
America, what kind of health care legislation are you expecting when the president who pushes it can’t understand it and certainly can’t explain it? It’s clear that Obama and the Democrats just want a health care bill passed and don’t care what’s in it, whether they understand it, and what it will do to health care delivery and the economy? The radical Obama agenda trumps all, including the survival of the health care delivery system and America itself. Obama and his allies in the Democratic Congress view nationalizing and socializing medicine as the Holy Grail of political achievement, and are willing to pay any price and use any means to get it.
Remember all that hogwash about bipartisanship and transparency. Obama has demonstrated he is about as bipartisan as Attila the Hun and is about as transparent as a 200-foot thick brick wall. The Senate bill was drafted in secrecy in the office of Harry Reid. The Republicans were shut out of the process from beginning to end. Isn’t it obvious that this Obama sees no need to make his actions and deeds match his words and promises? As I’ve said from the beginning of his campaign, he’s the biggest phony, fraud, four-flusher, faker, and fibber in American political history. He talks sweet reason, but behaves like a crooked Chicago thug-politician, which he is.
This behavior is nothing less than insane, and if that doesn’t convince you ask yourself how we can possibly afford another trillion-dollar plus entitlement when we’re already mired hopelessly in debt. As in all things, he occasionally talks sense about getting rid of debts and deficits, but his answer to everything is more debt and deficits through legislation such as Obamacare. He says small business is the great engine of job creation, but continues to shackle small business with his tax increases, his Obamacare putting another entitlement on its back, and cap-and-trade, sure to cramp every small business. Most recently, he admits that the EPA-implemented version of cap-and-trade will be a job killer, but uses that to blackmail Congress into passing a legislative version of cap-and-trade. And most of all, as Obama and the Democrats parade one new radical proposal after another, growing government and shrinking the maneuvering room of entrepreneurs and small business, providing only more taxes, more regulation, and total uncertainty, a triple threat certain to kill job creation and entrepreneurship. Rush Limbaugh was right, when he called Obama “the destroyer.”
Another sign of the insanity that pervades Obama and his Democratic Congress arises from their willingness to simply repeat already failed programs, rather than recognizing failure and coming up with a new plan. The Obama stimulus failed, providing only the hoax of all jobs saved (a metric which rational minds knows cannot even be determined) and unspent stimulus money (which was so urgent to be provided). So what does Obama propose: another stimulus, which will have failure written all over every page of it. He is convinced he can spend his way to prosperity, as he sinks us deeper and deeper into unsustainable debt that will makes us slaves to our debtors.
Where is all this taking us? Straight to the destruction of the greatest country in the history of the world. Just as America failed to address the reality of Obama when he was a candidate, we are not addressing the reality of what he is doing to America as a president.
John Podhoretz, the new editor of the magazine Commentary, which I think is the best magazine in the country, summarized exactly where Obama is taking us in a letter to his subscribers. I think his summary presents the best picture of where Obama is leading us.
On domestic affairs, Podhoretz writes, “Domestically, will the American people acquiesce in the determined efforts being made to turn them from the masters of their individual fates into, increasingly, wards of the government? Will democratic capitalism remain the driving force of economic freedom and prosperity, or will it be inexorably replaced by democratic socialism?” I’d add that as government keeps getting bigger, our freedom and liberty keep getting smaller. And as the national debt gets bigger, all Americans became slaves to that obligation, which may take generations and beyond to pay off.
And, I’d add as Obama destroys our economic freedom and prosperity, we will be heading toward the day when we cannot afford or maintain our national security and military systems that keep us safe.
Then on our foreign policy plight under Obama, Podhoretz writes, “In global affairs, will the United States sit mute and inactive as the world’s most dangerous regimes acquire the world’s most dangerous weapons – or will we muster the will to prevent them from doing so? Will we continue to apologize for being the greatest, the noblest, the freest, and the most selfless nation in the history of the world – or will we find the strength yet again to resist the temptation to blame ourselves for the slings and arrows hurled at us by those who wish us ill?”
Podhoretz writes, “This is a hinge moment in history.” Indeed it is, and if Americans do not start defending our system and our values, they will soon be smashed to smithereens by this American-hating radical who now sits in the White House and leads an equally radical Democratic majority in Congress. We better get informed, organized and tough in a hurry or all will be lost.
If that’s not bad enough there’s more in this picture: Podhoretz writes, “Here at home the new administration has cast off decades of hard-won wisdom about economic growth and economic liberty. The domestic automobile industry is now almost entirely in Washington’s hands. A bureaucrat with the Orwellian title of ‘paymaster’ is setting executive salaries at banks. The administration is pursuing the enlargement of our oversized government on all fronts, most especially in the area of health care, with the euphemistic ‘public option’ that is designed to be the first step down the road to the nationalization of one-sixth of the U.S. economy.”
“The world is losing faith in the dollar. We veer between fear of deflation and fear of stagflation. The best economic minds seem to share the sad assurance that the jobless, 1 in 8 working-age Americans, are likely to remain jobless for a considerable time.”
And finally, Obama plays the role of Chamberlain, dealing not with Hitler but with the autocrats in Teheran. Podhoretz writes, “Abroad, a nuclear Iran is in the offing. Even though an American general has laid out a path to victory in Afghanistan, his recommendations have done nothing but paralyze the nation’s commander in chief. [Since this was written, Obama has come out of his paralysis to send only part of what the general requested, and to make a political decision designed to appease his base rather than win our war.] The administration has chosen to pursue a foreign policy that appeases our adversaries and alienates our friends, and to recast the American relationship with Israel in a fashion injurious to the national interests of the United States and to the future of the Jewish state.”
Podhoretz concludes: “The fate of the United States, the fate of Western civilization, and the fate of democracies great and small…all hang in the balance. Right now.” It’s time for all citizens to come to the aid of their country and to fight this radical imposter in the White House before it is too late to do so. America is on the brink of destruction, pushed by Obama and his team. America better start pushing back.
